Ibifubara is the Managing Partner of LawQue Legal. He heads the firm’s Dispute Resolution and Tax practice groups. He has extensive knowledge and practical experience in commercial dispute resolution mechanisms including mediation, arbitration, and litigation. He advises international and domestic corporate bodies and individuals on diverse commercial issues including regulatory, business advisory, formalization and strategy as well as labour and employment.
Ibifubara has extensively represented various companies in the resolution of their complex and novel issues before tribunals and courts with appreciable amounts of success. He is versed in the practice and procedure of courts at every level in Nigeria. He has also represented various corporate entities and individuals before law enforcement agencies.
Before founding LawQue Legal, Ibifubara spent about a decade and a half in the commercial law firms of Olaniwun Ajayi LP and AELEX, where his dispute resolution and analytical prowess played pivotal roles in complex dispute resolution issues he handled for clients of the firms. While at AELEX, he formed and nurtured the arbitration practice group, which eventually won the 2018 LCA International Arbitration Moot competition.
Ibifubara has attended international and national arbitration conferences and has made several contributions to publishers on commercial law issues. He has equally authored various articles centred on arbitration, commercial litigation, and tax.
Ibifubara holds a bachelor of laws degree from the Rivers State University, and a master of laws degree from the University of Lagos. He attended the Nigerian Law School and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2003.
Ibifubara plays recognizable roles in the Nigerian Bar Association. He was a Secretary of the Judicial Relations Committee of the Lagos Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association. He is a member of the International Bar Association, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Nigeria, and a Notary Public of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He is an elected member of the Executive Committee of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), Nigerian Branch.
